Then there’s another lesson which demonstrates that even something as small as a single letter can cause devastating consequences. A young couple enjoyed what appeared to be a fantastic and truly successful wedding in the Mediterranean. It was only on arrival back in the UK that it was realised that a clerk had inadvertently misspelled the groom’s surname – just a single letter transposed. Sadly this meant that there were then very real concerns over whether the wedding was legal, and the bride was completely unable to have her name changed to her husband’s surname.

Finally, it is often hoped that the wedding celebrations will raise the roof. However, in one unfortunate couple’s case the anticipated event was somewhat premature, with a summer hurricane blowing the entire roof of the venue off. An open air celebration wasn’t entirely anticipated, and the day considerably dampened.
