Wedding Insurance Is Nothing To Sneeze At
How are the wedding insurance plans going? As much as you probably don’t want to dwell on the glum side of what is certain to be the most memorable day of your life, you don’t want to find that the day is memorable for all the wrong reasons. It should be a day where tissues and handkerchiefs are in use – but for the happy tears, and not because half the people there have got swine flu.
Sadly there are over 181,000 new cases of swine flu every week according to the Department of Health, and this means that statistically, a good number of weddings will be affected. It’s easy to be a little blasé and shrug statistics off, imagining them to apply to ‘other people’, yet the hard truth of the matter is that there’s every chance it could be your wedding that’s affected.
That’s why wedding insurance is so important, because whilst you have your head in the clouds, the wedding insurance policy has its feet firmly on the ground, facing the reality of such statistics full in the face.
Although people start to consider the risks of family or friends contracting swine flu, or any other serious illness which might require a postponement or cancellation of the wedding, it’s often forgotten that the many service providers are also human, and just as likely to be affected. How would you manage if the caterers suddenly had to cancel at the last minute, or if the florist contracted an illness such as swine flu?
Yes, it’s true that in some cases service providers may have their own insurance, but do you want to rely entirely on that? Do you want to have to check every single policy to make sure they’re covered? Having your own wedding insurance may not do much to protect you from swine flu, but it will at least help you sleep at night a little better.
