Cookies
What Are Cookies?
A cookie is a small file which asks permission to be placed on your computer's hard drive. You can tell your browser not to accept cookies. However, cookies allow web applications to respond to you as an individual and some web sites may not work correctly if you have cookies disabled.
Blocking and Deleting Cookies
Use the settings below to manage your consents for the cookies used on this website.
Functional Cookies: Cookies that are strictly necessary for the website to function. They do not track any personal data and must be enabled.
Analytics Cookies: Anonymously tracks website usage, for example the pages visited and visit duration.
Ad Tracking Cookies: Anonymously tracks information related to adverts, for example the search keywords used that displayed a particular advert and if that visit resulted in a successful sale.
Ad Personalisation Cookies: Consent for the sending of user data for personalised advertising. We don't believe in using your data in this way and so this is disabled by default.
You can also easily block or delete cookies using your browser settings. A step-by-step guide to doing so can be found here.
How Do We Use Cookies?
CompareWeddingInsurance.org.uk uses cookies for a few reasons. If a cookie is set by a third-party, we have linked to more information where that is available.
Analytics: We use cookies to track and analyse visitor behaviour e.g. to track what websites refer customers, and to see what pages are visited most frequently. We use Google Analytics for this. All data is completely anonymised and means you cannot be identified personally.
Website Optimisation: Occasionally we will use Google Website Optimizer to test different variations of web pages to see which perform the best for us. A cookie is set to ensure a visitor always sees the same variation.
More information about the cookies set by Google Analytics and Google Website Optimizer can be found here.
Commission Tracking: Where we refer visitors to insurers, we may receive a small commission for doing this. This is how the website is funded.
A cookie will be set by the insurer (or third-party tracking network) and stores anonymous tracking data so that if a policy is subsequently purchased, the commission will get credited back to us as the referer.
Receiving a commission does not mean that we endorse or recommend any particular insurer or policy. Where required, we are an Introducer Appointed Representative (IAR) of an insurer and this permits us to introduce customers to that company.
Social Plugins: Third-party social sharing buttons and plugins for sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and Pinterest may use cookies to collect anonymous (browser type, location, page views) usage information.
